Init is the first process started on a Linux system. Init's most prominent job is to launch daemons, boot scripts and gettys. LFSinit, which is short for "Lean Flexible Simple init", is an init that is more modular and flexible than other available inits, such as SysVinit. LFSinit allows the creation of boot script systems that are robust and easy to administrate, but it is also possible to use it to boot standard SysVinit setups.
